Founded in 2014 by educationist Chetna Desai, Shabd Prathna is an organization committed to promoting Gujarati culture, literature, art and ideas. A team of dedicated women manage Shabd Prarthna. It is the only Canadian organization that offers an avenue to Gujarati professionals, authors, poets, singers, musicians and artists engaged in all forms of creativity to fulfill their artistic quest in Canada. Thanks to the tremendous support from the Gujarati diaspora in Canada, Shabd Prarthna has had six sold out shows since its inception.
Encourage open, non-partisan conversations among the Gujaratis of Canada with the aim to forge bonds between generations and promote a dialogue that is meaningful in the 21st century. Provide a platform to speakers and performers that help Gujaratis in Canada connect with their culture, literature, arts and ideas.
Connect Gujaratis of all ages in Canada through the promotion of Gujarati culture, literature, art and ideas. Build effective linkages among the Gujaratis of Canada to surmount perceived and real generational and geographical impediments. Create a fluent discourse and to meaningfully connect Gujaratis to their heritage.
